My name is Andrés Aradillas Fernández, and I am an Economics PhD student at MIT. I graduated Cum Laude in 2025 from Cornell University with a Bachelor's in Mathematics. I am also a Phi Beta Kappa member at Cornell. My research interests lie mainly within econometrics and microeconomics.
Outside of research, I am an avid jazz piano player. I also enjoy painting and lifting.

Outside of all my academic and extracurricular interests, I have a strong passion for learning new languages. The number of languages I have ever studied to any extent is very long, but a list of notable entries is:
> Spanish (Español, my other native language)
> German (Deutsch)
> Armenian (Հայերեն)
> Swedish (Svenska)
> Portuguese (Português)
> Latin
> Arabic (العربية)
> Ancient Greek (Ελληνικά)
> Old Norse/Icelandic (Norrœnt mál/Íslenska)
In case it was not obvious, my language interest is all over the place. The language I am currently dedicating the most amount of time to is Armenian (specifically, Eastern Armenian). I think it is an incredibly beautiful language that is slept on by a lot of polyglots, and also serves a unique challenge in that its closest relative to any other living language is Proto-Indo-European.
As I mentioned, I am a piano player, having previously been heavily involved in Cornell's jazz community. I have played piano for over 15 years of my life. For two years, I helped organize weekly jam sessions at Cornell University, and was also involved in multiple on-campus music groups, both official and unofficial. The link below contains recordings from the most recent performance of mine at Cornell.
Another interest of mine that occupies a large part of my time is research. Here is a link to my research page.
